There are a variety of racial mounts that are available to Alliance Players in World of Warcraft. Basically, a mount is a particular type of pet that becomes permanent to the player that earns it. Normally, with racial mounts a character has to reach a specific level and has to obtain the particular riding skill required to use the pet. The pets are usually thought of as a status symbol because it provides a high level of functionality to the player that owns it. A character can travel very quickly when traveling by mount. When a character possesses a mount in WOW, a pet can be summoned or dismissed with ease whenever the need arises.
